What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori Food Service Specialist position at Montessori Unlimited?
Our Montessori school has been proudly serving our community for many years. With trained, dedicated educators (some with decades of experience), we provide an authentic Montessori experience in an early education setting. With mixed-age classrooms and carefully curated Montessori materials, we embrace the authentic Montessori Method, as we guide young learners toward the future, so they become innovative thinkers, good citizens, and able leaders.
As our Food Service Specialist, you will be:
- At home in the kitchen! Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school’s menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements. Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff. Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies.
- Focused on health and safety! Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
- Organized! Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
- Helpful! Opportunity to assist in classrooms, as needed, as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
Job Requirements:
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a licensed child care facility or Montessori school.
- An understanding of all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
