Director of Facilities Maintenance and Safety

Job Summary
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally. This role involves managing a team of maintenance personnel, coordinating repair and maintenance activities, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. The Maintenance Director will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Duties

• Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure effective operation of all facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Oversee HVAC systems, ensuring they are maintained and repaired as needed.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Fabricate parts or components as necessary to support maintenance activities.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting using tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Maintain mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, and conveyors, ensuring they operate efficiently.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or services when needed.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices in industrial maintenance.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and their maintenance requirements.
• Proficient in facilities management principles and practices.
• Ability to fabricate components as required for repairs or modifications.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques using voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Solid mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial maintenance environments.
• Experience with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
