Montfair Newsletter and Project Management Marketing Position
Montfair Resort Farm is an award-winning wedding venue and eco-friendly vacation resort. The 129-acre, family-owned and operated, recreational resort has served as a community resource that honors the rich cultural history of the area and has been a feature of Albemarle County’s rural economy since the 1960’s. Nine renovated cedar cottages and the Events Lodge overlook a spring fed lake, surrounding woodlands, naturalized wetlands, trail system and three other small fishing ponds. Montfair is an important contributor to the continued growth of Central Virginia’s tourism and a unique affordable option in the area. The property is also managed with a Virginia State certified forestry plan for conservation and wildlife habitat.
Join our Marketing team where we aim to provide guests with a connection to the landscape of Montfair, nature and the surrounding area attractions, local stories, happenings. The goals are to entice more visitors, longer stays and cultivate lifetime relationships with travelers, families and couples while increasing occupancy and revenue and showcases Montfair’s Nature Comfort, relaxation, simplicity, a connection to nature and a place to feel at home.
The Opportunity and Responsibility
- Host monthly meetings to discuss strategy and tactics, develop the content calendar, and review analytics reports from the previous month with Team: Leora, Ashley (Marketing Assistant) and self with the goal to increase followers and revenue.
· Create an engaging monthly newsletter that informs and inspires our past guests and new guests.
- Utilize Montfair’s marketing materials, photos and content documents. Manage Guest E-mail list on MailChimp.
- Strategy will rely heavily on resources from the Virginia State Travel Industry, the Shenandoah Valley Travel Association and the Charlottesville- Albemarle Visitor’s Bureau
- The Montfair newsletter is an important connection and opportunity to communicate with our customers and guests and to continue to foster a lifelong relationship with travelers, event guests and wedding couples.
- Highlight helpful tips and key elements for those hosting Weddings and Events, showcase past onsite Meetings, Workshops and Reunions as well as direct helpful content for vacationers. Emphasize local activities, outdoor recreation, wineries/ cideries/ breweries and local attractions. Create and feature stories about Montfair’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts, nature, gardens, season notes and a favorite Book Corner. Include Local history, and highlights of the local parks, Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah Valley Travel news and county parks. Emphasize current deals and specials.
- Utilize Newsletter content to guide Marketing Assistant to create a bi- weekly blog, schedule weekly content for social media posts with a mix of images, custom-made templates, and graphics.
- Support Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Blue Sky and Youtube, and Google Business profile campaigns by being in the know of current trends and technical changes.
· Website Optimization: Enhance our website using WordPress
- Monitor and manage pages (comments, DMs)
- The ideal candidate is eager and passionate about tourism marketing, hospitality and community development and able to learn digital marketing skills
- Help Promote small events and workshops
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Excellent writing and editing skills and newsletter writing skills
· Have ability to explore Digital Marketing trends
· Knowledgeable of Mail Chimp Newsletter publishing

Job Type: Part-time-8 hrs per week for 9 months of the year
Pay: $24 per hour
