We are a thriving multi-doctor practice in the Kenwood area and we are seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician/Tech student who loves what they do to join our outstanding team! Our team lead position is for an experienced licensed professional who wants to take their career to the next level with coaching from our amazing Blue Heron management consultants.
Our hospital has been AAHA accredited since 1950 and our amazing RVTs are instrumental in providing the high standards of care that generations of clients have come to expect and receive from us. Compensation is based on experience and ranges $17-23/hour.

Examples of Job Duties:
- Professional client communication and education
- Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, and blood chemistry
- Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
- Surgical assisting; preparing and maintaining the surgical environment
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and maintenance
- Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, providing high quality physical and psychological care of the patient during any hospitalization stay or visit
- Performing dental prophylaxis
- Pharmacy and pharmacology knowledge including: preparing and dispensing medications, calculating dosages, recognizing adverse reactions, knowledge of regulations regarding the safe handling of biohazardous materials
If you're experienced and excited to lead the medical team, we are also looking for a leader whose duties will include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the medical team and delegate duties to each team member to ensure tasks are completed effectively
- Training and instructing the team of veterinary technicians and assistants according to Montgomery Animal Hospital's training program
- Working closely with Practice Manager and Medical Director to ensure effective communication throughout all channels of the hospital
- Continuously looking for ways to improve internal processes, customer service, and overall dynamics within the medical team department
- Meeting regularly with the Practice Manager to collaborate on improvements and problem solving
- Collaborating with veterinarians and other team members to deliver exceptional medical care
- Other duties as assigned with training provided
