Under the direct supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation RN and Respiratory Therapist staff, the Exercise Physiologist is responsible for the patient/participant care and program process for the adult and geriatric client. Efforts are directed towards the hospital's needs and continued development of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation services. This individual shall build a strong referral basis, rapport with the physicians, as well as awareness of the services in the community through delivery of quality services. In the area of specialties, deliver quality patient care, educate the hospital staff, assist physicians in patient treatment plans to ultimately lead to a strong hospital reputation for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation care. Exercise Physiologist duties must be performed in accordance with the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and hospital policies and procedures. Additionally, responsibilities include patient assessment, assisting to design a physical conditioning program for each patient based on individual needs, provisions of patient and family education and counseling, maintaining patient records, conducting and monitoring physical conditioning sessions, and participation in Quality Improvement projects. Provide strength and conditioning exercise to the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation population. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent.
- Basic EKG experience preferred. License/Certificates:
- BLS required,
- ACLS preferred
- Ability to work as a team member throughout the facility.
- Technical ability to learn aspects of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program.
- Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated.
