QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Five or more year
in a similar position with a demonstrated knowledge of the field may be considered in lieu of a degree - Demonstrated organizational skills and experience managing volunteers and partners are necessary
- Strong verbal and writing skills
- Experience in working with the news media is preferred
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop
- Experience in producing content and managing social media and websites is necessary
- Typing skills @ 40 wpm or better
- Experience using DSLR cameras, video cameras, and photo, video, and audio editing software preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manage and promote the system's social media and website
- Responsible for developing and maintaining communication and support networks among key external organizations and interest
such as parents, volunteers, business partners, and community groups - Responsible for gathering content and writing the district's weekly calendar of events
- Responsible for the district's video and photography
- Work to establish positive relationships with parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors
- Serve as backup to the office secretary
- Report to Senior Communication Officer
- Other duties as assigned
