Flag Football Assistant Coach - Middle School

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Alabama Teacher's Certification (preferred) or classified dependent upon

qualifications of the person holding the position

• Previous Experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required
• Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches' Education Program
• Must have or be willing to obtain CDL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Establish performance criteria for competition and manage athletic activities, contests,

and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good
sportsmanship

• Instruct student-athletes in fundamentals of running routes and flag-pulling techniques,

develop character, model expected behavior

• Ability to work and effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents,

administration, and other coaches

• Ensures that student-athletes practicing or playing have been cleared through the school-

based Athletic Director

• Provides support in tracking the academic progress of student-athletes
• Assists the school-based Athletic Director in conducting inventories of uniforms,

supplies, and equipment to ensure effective maintenance of physical resources

• Adheres to the school, school, district and AHSAA regulations, policies, and procedures
• Organize and maintain the flag football practices and game schedules accordingly
• Attend the AHSAA yearly rules clinics for flag football
• Complete other duties as assigned by the school athletic director, school administrator,

and/or district athletic director
