Look no more!This rewarding position of Library Aide , supports MCPL’s customers by locating, pulling, and scanning library materials reserved by customers using a computer-based integrated library system.You help your colleagues and customers locate materials by keeping materials in proper order.You sort, shift, and shelve library materials alphabetically and numerically (in English) by the Dewey Decimal System or by other organizational methods. You communicate regularly with other MCPL staff about work matters.
This recruitment is for part-time (20 hours per week) Library Aide positions.Library hours of operation are Sunday through Saturday including days and nights. Individual schedules will vary based on customer service needs. Sunday hours may be required at any branch.
Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Additional pay may be available for bi-lingual languages other than English. To qualify for multilingual pay, applicants will be required to successfully pass a multilingual examination.

Education : Ability to read and write in English. High School Diploma.

Physical Demands
The work requires light physical effort involved in bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching to place or retrieve books from shelves and to push book carts weighing 60-70 pounds from place to place within the library. Ability to push carts weighing sixty (60) to seventy (70) pounds and to load, unload, and place books from cart to shelf.
