What are the responsibilities and job description for the Liquor Store Clerk I, Part-time, Grade 12 position at Montgomery County Government?
This recruitment will establish an eligible list to fill current and future vacancies.
Working for the Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) is not just a job. As an employee of the ABS, the selected candidates are County employees serving and working for the residents of Montgomery County, Maryland. The ABS is seeking highly qualified individuals who are customer service focused and in enjoy working in a high paced environment and upholding the values of the ABS.
Duties include:
- Rendering prompt and courteous service to the public
- Providing product related information to customers
- Assisting with the daily sales summaries and stock inventories, and the preparation of other reports
- Assisting in the requisition of merchandise, verifying, and unloading of stock from delivery trucks
- Making bank deposits and picking up cash for store registers
- Maintaining the electronic points of sale system
- Keeping store and merchandise in a clean and orderly condition
- Assisting in the enforcement of store security measures
- Stocking shelves, performing merchandise rotation duties, and marking merchandise with price and other identifying information
- Filling customer orders and packaging merchandise
- Keeping the storeroom and stock areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Enforcing applicable laws, rules and regulations governing the sale of alcoholic beverages
- Assisting in the enforcement of store security measures
- Performing merchandise rotation duties
- Marking merchandise with price and other identifying information
- Performing other related duties as required
Other information:
Selected candidates must be available every Monday, Saturday, Sunday and order day. Based on the anticipated scheduling needs of the department, applicants must be available to work at store locations throughout the County, and must be available to work morning, afternoon and evening hours. Hours may vary on different days of the week.
Selected candidates are required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam, drug and alcohol screening, lifting test, and criminal background check.
Upon appointment, employees must successfully complete and pass the Alcohol Intervention Training course required by the State of Maryland within three (3) months of employment.
