What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Sanitarian position at Montgomery County Health Department?
The Montgomery County Health Department has a current opening available for a Full-time Associate Sanitarian.
Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Health Director, the Associate Sanitarian candidate will perform technical field inspections within Environmental Health Programs to ensure compliance with Montgomery County / State of Illinois rules and regulations. Field inspections and investigations may include food establishment inspections, on-site private sewage and water well inspections, nuisance investigations, lead risk-assessment, and/or vector investigations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in the biological or related sciences is preferred, but not required.
- Preference will be given to individuals with food related experience.
- Ability to perform technical inspections and make corrective recommendations following such inspections.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both written and oral.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.
- Current valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable motor vehicle.
- Ability to work outside in extreme conditions.
- Flexibility to work necessary hours to meet the position requirements, including evenings and/or weekends as assigned.
Full-time position offers a 35-hour work week with 13 paid holidays; 10 day paid vacation, accrued sick leave, personal days and partial health insurance coverage.
