CTE Drafting, Engineering, and Drones Teacher

Are you passionate about teaching in Career and Technical Education? The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Drafting, Engineering, and Drones teacher position that is available at Blacksburg High School for SY 2024-2025. This position requires the teaching of dual enrollment coursework.

This is an immediate opening.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop and implement an instructional Technology & Engineering Education program based on current industry standards and state curriculum that will prepare students for employment or further education.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach dual enrollment courses in the appropriate subject areas

• Possess a Master’s or higher level degree with relevant field coursework

• Possess Project Lead the Way certification or willingness to complete coursework to obtain the certification

• Hold a remote Pilot License or willingness to obtain the license

• Have experience or training in areas related to CTE

• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials

• Possess the ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction

• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning

• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework

• Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students

• Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Engage and collaborate effectively with students, parents, and families

• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment

• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Have a Master's degree or higher degree in Engineering

• Experience working with any CADD program

• Previous public school secondary education teaching experience

SALARY: $57,973.76 - $90,755.96 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience and prorated to start date
