Knowledge Skills Abilities
Knowledge of physical disabilities and the impact to instruction; thorough knowledge of teaching strategies, assistive devices, and accommodations for students with physical disabilities; ability to administer, interpret, and analyze data, and write concise educational assessment reports. Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.
Education Training Experience
Bachelor^s degree in special education with course work in teaching students with physical disabilities, student teaching experience in the area of physical disabilities, or two years experience in teaching the physically disabled; training and/or experience with students with physical disabilities, technology, and universal design are desirable. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.Certificate License:Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for Standard Professional Certification I (SPC I) in special education.
