Montgomery County Public Schools is accepting applications on an on-going basis for SCHOOL BUS AIDE - SUBTITUTE positions that may become available within our division for the 2024-2025 school year.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The School Bus Aide assists the School Bus Driver by providing help and care for students with special needs during their transportation to and from school. The School Bus Aide must be flexible, understanding, sympathetic, patient, friendly, and demonstrate emotional stability. The School Bus Aide works approximately 4.25 hours per school day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent or passing score on literacy test given by MCPS
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written communication
- Have sufficient strength and ability to move, lift and secure students in car seats weighing up to 50 lbs; assist students weighing 60-150 lbs. to exit the bus through the emergency door, and to assist other students if necessary
- Must successfully complete the required training course for school bus aides
- Dependability and punctuality required
