Montgomery County Public Schools is accepting applications for The Hive Before/After School Aide position that is available at Belview Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Hive Aide assists the program coordinator by working with elementary aged students on educational and enrichment activities. The position requires both before and after school work hours on MCPS school days and additional work hours as needed on non-school days. The aide works a flexible schedule on school days during the school year. On non-school days or during the summer months, the aide may work additional hours as needed and approved. The position allows the aide to work up to 25 hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
- Ability to cooperate with other staff members
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Dependability and punctuality required
- Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
- Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (20 lbs.) as needed
- Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Possess the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
