The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a high school AP/DE Calculus AB/BC mathematics teaching position that is available at Blacksburg High School for the 2025-2026 school year.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement to teach mathematics at the high school level
- Have experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
- Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
- Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
- Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
- Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
- Earned 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics
- Endorsed to teach dual enrollment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned master’s degree in Education
- Experience teaching Calculus AB/BC
FLSA: Exempt
SALARY: $50,072.26 - $83,120.04 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to 2025-2026 budget considerations)
