Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. **A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to plan, coordinate and manage various events to include concerts, cruises, festivals, parades, weddings and other special events for public assembly facilities.� The primary work responsibilities of this position are: solicits, sells and books leases for special events; plans and coordinates events; fosters and maintains sponsorship relationships; performs administrative duties; manages food service operations; supervises temporary and contract workers; and completes other duties as assigned.� The Events Coordinator will assist the Events Manager in executing all City Events departmental programming, and this classification reports to the Museum Deputy Director in executing all Museum departmental programming.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in planning, coordinating, and promoting special events in a large public assembly facility. A Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, marketing, or a closely related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Must work nights, weekends and holidays as required. Physical ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds as needed to load, unload, and set up for special events.

Kind of Examination
