Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. **A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
This position is an entry-level position that emphasizes learning federal compliance standards and supporting procurement activities. It differs from upper-level buyer positions as it assists in procuring goods and services for the City of Montgomery, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and relations.�Work responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing and processing requisitions, assisting in preparing procurement documentation, providing fundamental support to the procurement team, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The work in this position is routine and straightforward but must adhere to detailed compliance requirements. Incumbents in this position works under the general supervision of senior procurement staff, with guidance and oversight provided for all assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience in procurement or related administrative roles, including familiarity with federal procurement guidelines. NOTE:� Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

WORKING CONDITIONS:� Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional site visits to vendor locations or other city offices. Minimum physical effort is required, but the role may involve extended periods of sitting and computer use.
