Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. �**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform managerial and technical duties in the areas of human resources administration, performance management, employee relations, training, development, and additional human resources operations for the City of Montgomery. The major work responsibilities include: developing and interpreting City of Montgomery policies and procedures; providing human resource advice and guidance to the City of Montgomery department heads; investigating employee-related complaints; making recommendations and findings regarding complaints; conducting analysis of reoccurring problems and issues; developing, implementing, and evaluating employee training programs; providing technical advice and guidance in the area of performance management; providing technical advice and guidance in the area of the disciplinary process; and performing a variety of human resources-related administrative tasks. �The position will be reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Management or a closely related field and ten (10) years of professional and administrative experience overseeing HR functions including staffing, classification, compensation, and employee relations. Must have at least three (3) years of experience in a senior level management role. NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered
