POSITION SUMMARY
As a Technician Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the maintenance team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of diesel engine repair and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist diesel technicians in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing flatbed trucks, trailers, and related diesel engines.
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, tire replacements, tarp repairs, and brake inspections.
Help troubleshoot engine, transmission, and electrical system issues under supervision.
Clean and organize tools, equipment, and the shop area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
Retrieve and prepare necessary parts for repairs and assist in component installations.
Follow safety protocols and company guidelines while handling tools and machinery.
Document maintenance and repair activities as instructed by lead technicians.
Assist with loading/unloading flatbed trucks when necessary.
Maintain knowledge of diesel engine systems and advancements through on-the-job training and company resources.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and automotive repair.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Valid drivers license (CDL is a plus but not required).
Previous experience in an automotive or trucking shop is beneficial but not required.
