The Trailer Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on our fleet of flatbed trailers. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various types of trailers and a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance on flatbed trailers, including but not limited to, brake systems, lighting, suspension, and tires.
- Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify and address mechanical issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on trailers using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize repairs and ensure that trailers are road-ready.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety in all work activities.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Other projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
- The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
