What You'll Do:
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our facilities and grounds are well-maintained and safe. Your responsibilities will include:
- Routine Maintenance:
- Performing routine cleaning of facilities and grounds to maintain a safe and respectable appearance.
- Moving furniture and fixtures as needed for events and daily operations.
- Setting up and taking down equipment for events.
- Installing and removing locks from fixtures.
- Opening and closing the facility, ensuring all areas are secure.
- Inspections and Repairs:
- Conducting periodic facility inspections, checking lights, and identifying safety issues, preventative maintenance needs, and other improvements.
- Receiving, logging, and following up on maintenance requests from other departments.
- Performing minor repairs on electrical equipment, as well as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and painting tasks.
- Performing and documenting routine inspections for safety equipment, including emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.
- Equipment Operation and Teamwork:
- Operating various motor equipment.
- Working effectively in a team environment and communicating professionally.
- Managing multiple tasks within defined timeframes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Contractor Coordination:
- Working with the Director, Team Leader, and team members to coordinate the use of outside contractors for maintenance and building projects, ensuring services provided are safe and efficient.
What You'll Bring:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-5 years of basic maintenance experience in plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs is preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to drive corporate vehicles.
- Knowledge and proficiency in using handheld tools.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in different departments.
- Ability to work onsite during weekdays. Some weekend work may be required.
Other Desired Skills:
- Ability to analyze facility/system problems and consult with supervisors for solutions.
- Excellent professional communication skills.
- Knowledge and practice of safe work procedures.
- Ability to effectively work with various contractors.
