A Consultant in the Government Services branch of the Resilience and Recovery department acts as a client liaison, project manager, engages with regulatory agencies, and more depending on the needs of an individual project. This position directs all types ofprojects, ensuring allprojects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards. Responsibilities range from simple day-to-day administrative activities to complex multi-year planning. This position reports to the director of Government Services, offering assistance and expertise in multiple disciplines from planning throughprojectcompletion. A consultant will be required to travel and be on-site for projects they are managing when needed.

Responsibilities include working closely with ourResilience and Recovery team and Operations Support staff to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets forprojects. The successful candidate will perform various tasks, including client consultation, scheduling of trade contractors / services, field services,projectquality control, data entry / management, and cost tracking, communicating with regulatory agencies, along with administrative duties relevant toprojectdocumentation management and addressing financial queries. The consultant will manage a project from start to finish including satisfying deliverable deadlines. This role requires excellent time management and both written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams forprojectplanning and execution.

ACTIVITIES / TASKS / SCOPE

  • Coordinateprojectmanagement activities, resources, equipment, and information;
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and oversee schedule management;
  • Analyze risks and opportunities;
  • Lead proposal designs;
  • Monitorprojectprogressand handle any issues that arise;
  • Act as the point of contact onproject(s) and communicateprojectstatus to all stakeholders;
  • Work with project technical directors and consultants to address challenges;
  • Operate proprietary computer-based process andprojectmanagement tools;
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met by conducting quality assurance reviews;
  • Execute industrial hygiene / environmental consultations, assessments, and reporting; and,
  • Act as assistant project manager in both divisional projects and as staff augmentation to other departments.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in STEM field.
  • Project management and project coordination experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform.
  • Preferred : Recognized environmental certification, such as CES, REM, CEP, or CHMM.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Solid organizational skills including multitasking and time-management;
  • Ability to gather information, prepare reports, and communicate effectively;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;
  • Familiarity with TeamDesk / Carbon preferred;
  • Ability to learn, understand, and use proprietary, web-based construction management tools; and,
  • Ability to work within a matrix-reporting structure.

  • Works in an office environment when not deployed on a project.
  • Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions.

  • Encounter environments presenting physical hazards of uneven ground, standing water, ditches, dusty conditions, rapidly moving transportation and remediation equipment, and physical stress associated with the wear of personal protective equipment.
  • May work at altitudes greater than 5000 feet above sea level.
  • May work on land, sea or air.
  • May work in a setting with potential physical and chemical hazards.
  • Frequent, extended travel.

  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device and / or a paper copy.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Frequent, unscheduled travel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to drive non-commercial vehicles.
  • Rarely may work shifts of up to 24 hours in duration.
