A DAY IN THE LIFE
Our Environmental Planning Analyst Summer Internship is a fully-remote work arrangement where you will work closely with our team and have access to a truly meaningful experience, relevant to your long-term professional goals.
As an Environmental Planning Analyst Summer Intern, you will be responsible for completing project tasks and assignments that are assigned by your manager. Project focus areas may include environmental planning and analysis, drafting sections of environmental documents, tracking project compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), assisting with project permitting, assisting with project manager duties, and team coordination. Clients and projects will likely be tied to one or more of the following sections : utility, renewable energy, County, City, municipality, and residential. The majority of the projects you will be providing support for are located in Southern California, but your duties be performed remotely.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this summer internship successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
- At least a sophomore in college at the time the internship begins.
- Currently pursuing a college degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of CEQA and environmental regulations a plus.
- Strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to supervisors.
- Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
- Clear and concise communicator.
- Experience and comfortable working on assignments with a small team and individually.
- Maintain project and client confidentiality at all times.
- Able to work and focus in a high-paced environment.
