A Project Fire Safety Engineer at CTEH is responsible for a skillset expansion of the Applied Science Group (ASG) Program in the disciplines of fire science, fire safety, and engineering principles. This position resides within the ER Sciences Division of the Emergency Response (ER) department structure. Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) applies science and engineering principles to protect both people and the environment from hazards of fire. The CTEH Project Fire Safety Engineer will utilize FPE methods to protect workers in both emergency and non-emergency environments where exposure risk to fire-related hazards is present. This position will provide technical direction, focused mainly on fire science, safety engineering, process safety, data management / analysis, code compliance, incident analysis / investigation, and risk mitigation for emergency response, as well as other exposure-related projects. This position will also provide technical support to other internal CTEH divisions, including internal professional development and growth of ASG supporting scientists. This candidate must have a strong understanding of fire science, fire protection engineering, process safety principles & practices, and be able to implement strategies to protect workers during emergencies involving fire and process-related hazards. The Project Fire Safety Engineer will maintain readiness to support client needs for emergency response which may include frequent travel on short notice. This position reports to Principal / Senior Exposure Scientist of ASG.

ACTIVITIES / TASKS / SCOPE
- Develop and implement fire protection engineering strategies designed to reduce occupational exposure for emergency response and non-emergency projects;
- Integration of fire risk assessments into safety protocols;
- Computational Fluid Dynamic, fire protection, process safety modeling;
- Establish robust data management systems for tracking, reporting, and analyzing project progress, exposure data, and safety metrics;
- Ability to identify potential hazards & develop, design, and implement effective safety systems, protocols, and strategies to mitigate risk;
- Revenue management of ASG projects and internal project growth goals, annually;
- Project-based technical development and mentorship of supporting scientists within CTEH;
- Revenue management through direct client interaction and prescriptive solutions both in ER and non-ER projects;
- Participation in external training, content creation, litigation, and sophisticated hazard / exposure scenarios;
- Able to deliver professional presentations at conferences / public forums & participate in ASG research & publications;
- Business development both within ER and scopes of work outside of ER;
- Performs such other duties as assigned.
