A DAY IN THE LIFE

Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 8 laboratories servicing air, water, and soil testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.

Our Orange, CA Laboratory Team and LA Service Center is currently seeking a Full-Time Special Project Coordinator to join our team. This position is primarily on-site at the LA Service Center 3 days a week and 2 days at the Orange Laboratory.

The Special Projects Coordinator provides technical and strategic consulting services to Enthalpy. Responsible for the identification and development of new business opportunities for their assigned area of expertise. They will act as a liaison and facilitate positive outcomes between laboratory management and quality assurance.

As a key member of the Project Manager Group, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including :

  • Recognized as subject matter expert (SME) in assigned field of expertise
  • Explore, evaluate and report to management new business opportunities or methods within targeted markets that are aligned with company mission and goals
  • Review method and / or project's requirements (permits, SOW, QAPP, compound list, EDD, reporting format, regulatory limits, etc.) and ensure that results meet project's requirements
  • Advising on, drafting and enforcing laboratory best practices
  • Independently developing, validating, and verifying analytical methods for the testing of chlorinated herbicides by EPA Method 8151 and organophosphorus compounds by EPA Method 8141
  • Transmit project schedules, technical and turn-around requirements accurately to the analytical groups, and obtain their commitment to meet the requirements
  • Proactively communicate to internal clients any scheduling conflicts, analytical problems, or questions that could impact either the quality or TAT of results
  • Support the LA service center with project management tasks as needed

  • YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

    To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience required
  • Must have familiarity for most if not all the assays performed by the associated laboratory / field of expertise
  • Must understand the drivers that motivate customers to purchase assays from their lab
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite : Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization
  • Able to multi-task under strict deadlines
  • PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Effectiveness-Positive outcomes & results of communication skills
  • Conflict resolution skills : Removes / Breakdown organizational communication barriers
  • General understanding of scientific concepts and processes
  • Familiarity with EPA methods 8141 and 8151 data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with LIMS
  • Solid organization and time / project management skills
  • Able to work collaboratively to analyze problems, then take charge and implement solutions
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated)
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel / management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
