· Cardiac rehab is a medically supervised program designed to improve your cardiovascular health after a heart attack or heart surgery through exercise and lifestyle modifications. Pulmonary rehab programs offer substantial benefits in improving lung function, reducing symptoms, and enhancing the quality of life for those suffering from chronic lung disease or asthma. Pulmonary rehab includes exercise classes and education about your lung disease or condition.
About The Career:
· The respiratory therapist in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation will provide assessment, treatment and education of cardiac and pulmonary patients and their families. They are responsible for development of exercise prescription, monitoring the patient's response to exercise and recovery and overseeing exercise progression as outlined by the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab clinical guidelines and industry standards.
All About You:
· Education: Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
· Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC.
· BLS required.
· Current, competent, and basic knowledge of intensive care and neonatal intensive care including EKG, ABG, spirometry, and oximetry.
