Supervision Received: Reports to the Active Adults Coordinator and Adult Leader
Essential Duties: The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be requested or required.
- Lead interactive technology workshops, lectures and classes for older adults.
- Teach a range of topics, including basic computer skills, internet navigation, social media, smartphones, online safety, and more advanced digital tools.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and builds confidence.
- Assist in curriculum development and refinement to enhance program offerings.
- Track and report student attendance, and feedback to improve instructional quality.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth execution of classes and workshops.
Position Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching technology-related subjects, preferably to older adults or diverse populations.
- Strong familiarity with digital tools, including social media, video conferencing, smartphones, and online safety best practices.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to simplify advanced concepts.
- Experience delivering in-person instruction.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for bridging the digital divide for seniors.
- Ability to troubleshoot common tech issues and provide clear guidance.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus.
Hours & Work Environment:
Busy Senior Center environment with extensive public contact. 8-12 hours per week primarily on weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm.
