Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Informatics Analyst to join our hospital system's dynamic informatics team. The Informatics Analyst will play a pivotal role in optimizing the use of technology, data management, and information systems to enhance patient care, streamline operational processes, and support decision-making across the healthcare organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret healthcare data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that contribute to improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Develop and produce regular reports, dashboards, and visualizations for key stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and executive leadership.
System Integration and Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate, implement, and support health information systems, electronic medical records (EMR), and other technology platforms.
- Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives by analyzing clinical and operational data, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and recommending actionable strategies to enhance patient safety and care delivery.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to health informatics, data security, and patient privacy (HIPAA) to ensure compliance in all informatics-related activities.
Training and Education:
- Provide training and support to hospital staff on the effective use of informatics tools, systems, and applications.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by educating colleagues on the value of informatics in improving patient care and operational processes.
Project Management:
- Lead and participate in informatics projects aimed at enhancing system functionality, data accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria while managing timelines and resources effectively.
Problem Solving:
- Troubleshoot and resolve informatics-related issues, ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and applications critical to patient care and hospital operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare processes, clinical workflows, and hospital operations.
- Proficiency in data analysis, database management, and data visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with health information systems (EMRs, EHRs), HL7 standards, and healthcare interoperability.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and privacy standards (HIPAA) in healthcare.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in healthcare informatics, data analysis, or related roles.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, clinical informatics, and hospital information systems. Meditech client server and or Meditech Expanse preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing informatics projects and driving process improvements.
