An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Montrose School was founded in 1979 and is located in the welcoming community of Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Montrose School attracts a talented and growing student population from over 50 towns and communities. The students and their families as well as the faculty and staff are noted for their commitment to the school’s mission - educating young women who are called to greatness.
Montrose School seeks a short term-6 week Learning Support substitute this spring to provide consistent support for students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate may be considered for full-time employment for the 2025-2026. The incumbent will work within the Learning Support team to
- support a focused working environment for students and to facilitate assessments for students using extended time or make-up work
- facilitate communication among students, teachers and parents to support students when they get behind on work or when new challenges emerge
- meets with as many upper school students as schedule allows to provide weekly support that can include

- Executive function coaching
- Study skills support
- Long-term project/paper/presentation support
- Specific skills and content support to guide student mastery in targeted subject areas
The ideal candidate will have a background in Special Education as well as:
- Strong knowledge of adolescent developmental needs as well as educational best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, administrators, and the public
- Excellent facility with computers (Zoom, Canvas, Veracross and Google Suite)
- Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and following school mission and practices
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion
- Sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality must be maintained at all times
- Professionalism in timeliness for arrival times
