Accounting Intern
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Finance team. The intern will focus on the standardization and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting processes, financial reporting, and data analysis. The intern will report to the Assistant Controller and have substantial exposure to problem-solving and providing recommendations for best practices.
Essential Functions
The Heritage Group Internship Program provides hands-on, paid experiences in a corporate function or within one of our many operating companies. Interns can expect to network with other students and professionals, gain useful skills, receive mentoring, and make their own contributions to the organization. Additionally, interns can participate in our weekly hosted events focused on professional development, team building, and community service.
Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $17/hour (Freshman) - $20/hour (Senior), etc.

Accounting Intern

- Perform reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for reconciliations and standardization efforts.
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in account balances and transactions.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
- Provide recommendations for best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in the standardization of accounting processes and procedures across the organization.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
- High School Diploma required.
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
