Position Summary:
The Transportation Attendant (TA) plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation for residents. Working under the direction of the Administrator and in close coordination with Central Supply and Scheduling, the TA is responsible for organizing transportation logistics for both current and potential residents. This includes planning and executing transport for medical appointments, facility transfers, and other resident needs.
The TA is committed to resident safety, assisting individuals in entering and exiting Company vehicles while following all transportation safety guidelines. The role also involves coordinating with the nursing department to ensure that required nursing staff accompany residents when necessary.
This is a part-time position with two available shifts: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, facility transfers, and other authorized destinations.
- Ensure residents are safely assisted when boarding and exiting vehicles, using proper lifting techniques and mobility aids when required.
- Follow all traffic laws and Company transportation policies to maintain a safe and compliant driving record.
- Maintain communication with Central Supply and Scheduling to confirm transportation arrangements.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure appropriate care and supervision for residents during transit.
- Conduct routine vehicle safety checks, including fuel levels, tire pressure, and accessibility equipment functionality.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or concerns to the Administrator.
- Assist with resident belongings and required medical equipment during transport.
- Maintain documentation of trips, including mileage logs, resident transport records, and incident reports as necessary.
- Exhibit professionalism, patience, and a strong commitment to customer service when interacting with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 25 years old (required for insurance purposes).
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is a plus.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of local routes and medical facilities is beneficial.
- Availability for part-time shifts (10 AM - 12 PM and 3 PM - 5 PM).

> Must be able to clear DACS (or eligible to be clear)
> Background Screening, Licensure Verification (if applicable), Reference Check, Drug Testing

> Ability to Move, Lift and Transfer a minimum of 50 Pounds
> Must be able to Speak, Read, Write and Understand English
