Behavioral Health- Inpatient position at Monument Health Behavioral Health Center
Located in Rapid City, South Dakota
Facility has 52 beds
Minimum experience required : 1 year
First-time travelers accepted with more than 2 years of experience
Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient types include psychiatric children / adolescents and adults, with no dementia or forensic patients

Job Requirements

RN & LPN : BLS and CPI (preferred to have prior to start but can obtain on assignment)

Psych Tech : BLS and CPI – required to have CPI prior to start due to minimal orientation provided

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing for RN & LPN

High School Diploma for Psych Tech

Schedule Information

Blocked scheduling will NOT be accommodated

Variable shifts with no guarantee of nights or days throughout contract

Weekend rotation : every other weekend; 12 hours on the weekend and could be a combo on Fri, Sat or Sun

Shift details : 8 hr Days : , 8 hr Eves : , 8 hr Nights : , 12 hr Days : , 12 hr Nights :

On-call may be required depending on acuity

Holiday expectations : work one major holiday of Thanksgiving or Christmas to get the other off

Unit Specific Information

Patient ratios : RN : 1 : 8 with a tech, LPN : 1 : 8 with a tech, Psych Tech : 1 : 10

Support on the unit includes security, panic alarms, and a charge nurse on shift 24 / 7

Charting system : EPIC, must request approval if no EPIC experience
