What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartendar & Mixologist: Monument Bower Lodge position at Monument Resort?
Position Description: Monument Bower Lodge is hiring for both entry level bartenders and Experienced bartendars/mixologist. This position description is intended to represent both levels of bartender/mixologists.
The Bartender/Mixologist I will be responsible for making sure the bar is set and assisting the Bar Manager, Restaurant Managers and Bartender/Mixologist II as needed. The primary duty is service bartending and making sure all customers at the bar are welcomed promptly and with excellent service. Bartendar/Mixologist II will be responsible for planning and executing daily operations.
Performance Expectations:
- Welcoming and providing excellent guest service
- Mixing, creating, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company and state regulations
- Clear, clean, and polish glassware and flatware as needed
- Prepares ingredients for drink recipes
- Adheres to the company and state guidelines on proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Maintains proper labeling and dating and rotation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic items
- Coordinates daily inventory and submits orders to supervisor
- Maintaining inventory records and DABS dispensing records
- Assisting with orders and providing excellent customer service by helping guests choose their drink options and explaining the menu
- Creates and contributes to holiday themes and event drink menus in collaboration with supervisor and other team members
- Level II Bartendar/Mixologist will plan and execute daily operations in a fast paced environment
- Keeping the bar stocked and maintaining a clean and tidy bar environment
- Efficient and accurate order taking and understanding of our POS system.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must adhere to our uniform standards and the county’s Health Code standards
- Must have excellent hygiene and a professional appearance
- Additional duties as directed by Resort Restaurant Manager and Assistant Restaurant Manager
- Adhere to Bower Lodge’s Policy and Procedures

- Be punctual. Have a flexible schedule. Evenings and Weekends required.
- Assist with Front of House duties, such as food delivery, bussing tables, checking IDs, maintaining a clean environment, setting up/breaking down dining room.
Requirements:
- Current Utah Food Handlers Permit
- Current Sips & Tips Certification
- Age 21 required
- Bartending experience preferred for Level I
- 2 years experience for Level II Bartender/Mixologist
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable Transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to continually bend, kneel, and reach
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, consistently.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Work Environment: Generally, in an indoor setting with occasional exposure to outdoor environment. While performing duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or cold weather. Working in a potential slippery environment.
