Mood Fabrics is seeking a passionate and skilled Garment Sewing Technician & Writer specializing in women's silhouettes for a dynamic fashion environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

Create high-quality sewing projects focused on women's fashion

Analyze, adapt patterns, and write detailed sewing instructions

Maintain a blog showcasing projects and techniques

Solve fitting issues independently and maintain quality standards

Collaborate with team members and provide regular project updates

Work efficiently under tight deadlines and communicate effectively with patternmakers

Qualifications

Advanced sewing skills with thorough understanding of garment construction

Expertise in women's fashion pattern-making and fit adaptation

Ability to foresee and resolve pattern issues before fabric cutting

Proficient in writing comprehensive sewing pattern instructions

Photography skills including image capturing, navigating camera equipment, and image editing

Proficiency in Google Suite and computer applications

Experience with blogging platforms

Strong grammatical and writing skills

Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Technical drawing and fashion illustration experience

Digital technical flat drawing skills

Self-motivated with strong independent work ethic

Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities

Demonstrated sewing portfolio required

Additional Qualifications

Thorough understanding of garment construction fundamentals

Able to sew 1-2 patterns weekly with comprehensive tutorial documentation

Proactively manages workflow, filling slow periods with smaller tasks

Adaptable to change and can output quality work under tight deadlines

Comfortable with public speaking and on-camera presentations

Experience in teaching or tutorial creation preferred

Experience with model fittings and on-the-spot adjustments

Personable and capable of answering technical sewing questions

Well-organized with ability to maintain a professional studio space

Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years professional sewing experience

Reliable transportation

Portfolio submission mandatory

Cover letter suggested (writing sample)

Interview Process

Virtual initial conference call

Second round : Sew sample garment and write tutorial

In-person final interview at Lodi office
