JOB SUMMARY:
The Room Service Cashier is authorized to take calls and accurately place orders into the POS system.
POSITION AUTHORITY:
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
POSITION GUIDELINES:
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and visually inspects guest checks for any inaccuracies.
- Complies with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, check total certification, tip disbursement, cash drawer, and house bank management
- Balances house bank at the end of the shift
- Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere with health standards
- Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma preferred
- Prior hospitality and cashiering experience preferred
- Ability to obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be reliable and responsible
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently
- Ability to operate a keyboard and a POS system
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand, and work in confined spaces for extended periods of time
