Essential Functions
- Must maintain a Guest focus while performing duties
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of guest experience
- Follow Chefs assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation
- Maintain proper inventory levels of food in holding bins, monitoring waste at all times
- Operation and set up of equipment
- Prepare food items by complying with portions size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures
- Keep all foods refrigerated when not being uses
- Ensure that proper food temperatures are maintained
- Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas
- Help remove all trash from concession areas
- Cook all foods to proper temperature and ensure consistency of product
- Adhere to company cost control guidelines by not over or under portioning
- Receive verbal instructions for food as requested by guests
- Keep work area clean and sufficiently stocked
- Clean and sanitize all work areas and food preparation equipment
- Adhere to company guidelines for appearance and uniform standards
- Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
- Prior Culinary experience preferred
- Culinary Arts Degree or current enrollment in Culinary School preferred
- Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work
- Must be reliable and responsible
- Knowledge of Galveston County Health Department rules and regulations
- Ability to perform tasks that include reaching, bending, and stooping
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Ability to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds many times per day
- Ability to work in hot, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time
