Job Summary

Essential Functions
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company's business operations
- Have set skills to Supervise, Empower, Lead, Coach, and Motivate the Banquet Team - Including (but not limited to) assistant managers, captains, servers, housemen, and bartenders - toward achieving exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement
- Coordinate and execute all daily banquet events successfully
- Implement and maintain housekeeping, sanitation and, cleanliness standards in all areas of responsibility
- Maintain equipment and inventory for all cater service areas
- Operate in compliance with all Local, State, and Federal Laws and governmental regulations
- Responsible for hiring, inducting, and training all banquet personnel to meet department responsibilities
- Ensure good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures
- Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
- Must be responsible and reliable
- Must exhibit maturity in the workplace
- Must have cooperative attitude and ability to be part of a team
- Minimum 5 years of banquet management (preferably at a Full-Service Hotel) or fine dining serving experience; banquet experience strongly preferred.
- Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or High School Degree with equivalent experience.
- Exceptional people skills
- Must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform professionally under high levels of stress.
- Computer skills required
- Ability to perform tasks that include walking, sitting, and bending at the waist
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
