Senior Product Owner

MoodysNWC is seeking a Senior Product Owner with expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies to lead our product development efforts. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to define and execute a roadmap for our Kubernetes-based platform and services. This role requires deep technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and a strong ability to translate business needs into scalable and innovative product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the Kubernetes platform product strategy, roadmap, and backlog.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable, secure, and resilient Kubernetes solutions.
• Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans aligned with business goals.
• Partner with cloud, DevOps, and security teams to ensure best practices in container orchestration and cloud-native application development.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and prioritize feature development.
• Stay up to date with Kubernetes ecosystem trends and industry best practices.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success.
• Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment.
• Drive continuous improvement in product development methodologies, including Agile and SAFe frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in cloud-native environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Helm.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and managing product backlogs.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
• Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and logging solutions.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, API management, and DevSecOps principles.
• Previous experience leading platform engineering or SRE teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The salary for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to 150,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Other forms of compensation are offered in the form of medical, vision, and dental benefits.
