Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for well and pump repair, installation and troubleshooting
- Be prompt, reliable and prepared to work
- Job preparation including assembling parts, supplies and materials
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing company issued equipment
- Responsible for well rehabilitation efforts using chemicals and mechanical means
- Administrative work including reports, driving logs, fuel logs, time sheets and receipts
Position Qualifications /Requirements
· Successful applicant should have working understanding of water wells, submersible and vertical turbine water well pumps, motors, electricity, controls, piping, construction work, crane operation and rigging.
· Valid state driver’s license, Class B CDL and required medical clearance or the ability to obtain within 90 days
· Must submit to and pass random drug and alcohol testing
· Gain experience necessary to achieve NCCO boom truck certification, New York State Crane License and NGWA pump installer, water systems more than 100 gpm, certification.
· Must be extremely safety conscious and understand hazards and dangers associated with the job. OSHA 10 hour certification a plus
· High School Diploma
· Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain company equipment including pump rig, service truck, welder, generator, hand tools and power tools.
· Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to verbally communicate with clients, consultants, regulatory personnel, project management and supervisors
· Ability to problem-solve when faced with obstacles and changing situations
· Ability to promote additional company offered services
· Ability to train new employees
· Must be able to stand and walk on varying terrains for major portion of shift
· Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. alone and up to 100 lbs. as a team.
· Requires working with equipment that vibrates and near moving mechanical parts
· Requires the ability to work in all environmental conditions including but not limited to; heat, cold, mud, rain, snow, ice, humidity, in congested and very remote areas, indoors and outdoors.
· Ability to when necessary; bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull and reach
· Requires the need to work at heights and in confined spaces.
· Ability to wear necessary PPE including but not limited to; fall restraint equipment, respirator, Flame resistant clothing, rain gear, steel toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses
· Must be willing to travel and stay out of town in a double occupancy setting as projects require
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
