What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Moon Thai & Japanese Restaurant?
Calling all social butterflies! The host is often the first point of contact between the guest and the restaurant. The host must love people and know how to talk to them to get them in the door. They must be professional, courteous, presentable, patient, very outgoing, and have a natural knack for selling. They must be detail oriented and have an over viewing attentiveness to what is going on with guests and tables at all times. The host is expected to dress stylishly with class and provide detailed information to guests in a friendly and appealing way. They should be able to provide an overview of our restaurant to the guests in a way that makes Moon Thai & Japanese irresistible for them. They must maintain reservations, floor plans, cover counts, seating rotation, take out orders, and be able to greet and engage with every customer. The host must be a multi-tasker.

our responsibilities as a host at Moon Thai will include:
o Greet all passing guests and explain our cuisine
o Fish for guests and try to step out from behind the desk with menus as often as possible.
o Answer the phones in a courteous and professional manner
o Work within our reservation system to confirm reservations
o Take legible, detailed, and accurate messages for management
o Take reservations
o Seat guests and maintain floor plans
o Clean windows and menus
o Perform daily cleaning maintenance tasks
o Assist in any way possible to ensure guests are well accommodated
