Job Summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking an MVP Tree Maintenance Foreman to manage our MVP Tree Maintenance program year-round. This role requires expertise in arboriculture, including tree health assessment, pruning techniques, pest management, and soil care. Candidates should have a deep understanding of tree species common in the Southwest and demonstrate the ability to guide teams in best practices for tree maintenance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspecting Soil Condition/Water Penetration
• Inspecting Tree Wells for Proper Water Retention
• Discussing Proper Watering Schedule with Customer for Seasonality
• Fertilization
• Disease Inspection
• Pest Inspection
• Trunk Wrapping/Painting Checking
• Inspecting Trunk Caliper/Strength and Remove Staking
• Tree Canopy Inspection
• Tree Trimming/Pruning
• Maintaining a working knowledge of our products and appropriately recommending them to our valued customers.
• Providing exceptional service throughout the customers experience.
• Communicating effectively in-person & over the phone to discover the customers wants and needs.
• Selling AND closing a customer based on their wants and needs.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Certified Arborist
• 3 years in an Arborist role
• Sales Experience is a plus
• Must have a clean driving record (with DOT drug & health screen) insurable with MVNs insurers.
• Complete/pass Criminal background check in accordance with fair chance laws, rules, and regulations
• Experience in a retail, nursery, landscaping, or related environment preferred.
• This position requires weekend availability and may require other duties as assigned; responsibilities may vary by location.

Physical requirements/Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
