Job Summary                                                                                                                                                                                          

We are seeking a Senior Manager, HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Retail & Corporate Support to lead and scale our HRBP team, supporting field operations across 50 retail locations and corporate functions. Reporting directly to the Vice President of HR, this role is instrumental in shaping HR as a strategic service function, ensuring alignment with our corporate goals:

 

  • Growing existing store sales
  • Opening new stores
  • Expanding service offerings
  • Enhancing inventory flow and operational efficiency

 

This role requires a high-energy, strategic HR leader with deep retail HRBP experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will be a rockstar communicator, a strong influencer across all levels of the organization, and a process-builder, comfortable taking initiatives from concept to full execution.

 

This is an in-person role based in our Scottsdale, AZ office. It is NOT remote or hybrid.
Limited travel required (<10% overnight) to support field operations and store openings.

 

 

 Key Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                          

 

HR Leadership & Transformation

  1. Lead and develop a team of HRBPs supporting field operations across 50 and rapidly growing retail locations.
  2. Establish HR as a strategic service function, ensuring HR processes enable and support both field and corporate teams.
  3. Build and refine HR processes from start to finish, driving efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business goals.
  4. Provide expert HRBP support to operations and corporate leadership, ensuring HR initiatives drive performance and engagement.

 

Retail & Corporate Business Partnership

  1. Serve as the key HR advisor to regional and corporate leadership, ensuring alignment between HR strategies and business needs.
  2. Partner closely with operations leaders to support store expansion efforts, ensuring smooth workforce planning and leadership development.
  3. Influence and communicate with impact, ensuring HR priorities are clearly understood and embraced across all levels of leadership.
  4. Provide strategic HR support for teams with commission-based compensation structures, ensuring compliance, motivation, and retention.

 

Training, Development & Performance Management

  1. Develop and implement training programs to enhance leadership skills, sales effectiveness, and operational execution.
  2. Oversee the performance management process, ensuring managers provide clear expectations, feedback, and development opportunities.
  3. Support succession planning and leadership pipeline development, identifying high-potential talent and preparing them for growth.

 

HR Policy, Compliance & Culture

  1. Ensure company policies are up to date, compliant with labor laws, and effectively communicated across all levels.
  2. Possess extensive knowledge of California employment law, ensuring compliance across hiring, wage and hour laws, commission structures, and employee relations.
  3. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement, aligned with company values.
  4. Lead employee relations investigations with fairness, discretion, and a solutions-focused mindset.

 

HR Analytics & Reporting

  1. Leverage HR data and analytics to identify workforce trends, risks, and opportunities.
  2. Provide regular reporting on employee engagement, turnover, training effectiveness, and HR impact to leadership.

Qualifications


Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities                                                                                                                                   

  • 9 years of HRBP experience in a retail, multi-unit environment (REQUIRED).
  • Experience supporting commission-based teams, ensuring fair compensation structures and compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of California employment law (REQUIRED).
  • Proven ability to build and implement HR processes from start to finish.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills—must be able to communicate like a rockstar across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading HR initiatives for business expansion, including new store openings and service growth.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, talent development, workforce planning, and change management.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • In-person role based in Scottsdale, AZ—this is NOT a remote or hybrid position.
  • Limited travel required (~10% overnight).
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Education                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

 

 

 Physical requirements/Working Conditions                                                                                                                                   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
