Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This position is in Westernport, MD. Applicants need to have the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient evaluations.
- Provide urgent care services, including diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Manage infectious disease care, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Base knowledge of Hepatitis C, HIV, and Prep work up, treatment, and management a plus.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health management strategies and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.
Skills
- Proficient in patient assessment techniques and clinical decision-making. MUST be able to work independently.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices within healthcare settings.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Knowledge of urgent care protocols and best practices for acute medical conditions.
- Ability to provide comprehensive infectious disease care, including prevention strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
