THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HR department and implementing the best practices that enhance associate engagement and foster a positive employment experience throughout the entire associate lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. This role entails a comprehensive range of HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, compensation management, engagement initiatives and associate housing. The HR Manager acts as a strategic partner to both associates and managers, ensuring effective support across the organization. By cultivating strong relationships and open communication with associates at all levels, the HR Manager plays a pivotal role in promoting a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

HR Operations

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new associates including coordinating seasonal new hire presentations and HR onboarding paperwork on the first day of work.
  • Coordinates the administration of health, dental, vision, life, and 401(k) benefits, serving as the point of contact for all benefit-related inquiries and issues. Ensure Associates complete their new-hire benefit enrollment (or waiver).
  • Understands, adheres to, and enforces all established HR policies, procedures, and best practices within the organization.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to managers and Associates on a wide range of HR-related matters, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Address and resolve employee relations issues using a systematic approach, including participating in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workers’ compensation claims, file first report of injury reports, and acts as a liaison between insurance carriers and associates. Ensure compliance with light duty restrictions as outlined by physicians and facilitate communication between associates and managers regarding restrictions.

Cultural Experience

  • Focus on providing the best possible experience for all Moonlight Associates from housing onboarding, to the first day of work and last day of work.
  • Collaborates on aligning Associate onboarding with Moonlight Basin’s vision and values.
  • Plans and executes cultural activities for all Associates.

Associate Housing

  • Strives to make the living experience, particularly the first and last impressions, of the highest quality.
  • Oversee the associate housing inventory and overall program for Moonlight Basin’s year-round and seasonal Associates.
  • Assign housing units to incoming residents, arrange payroll withholding for fees, monthly rent payments, and fines.
  • Assist HR in reconciling the payroll deductions to the monthly housing budget.
  • Manage all master and subleases; including drafting new and renewal subleases, ensuring required housing documents are signed prior to move-in and copies of subleases and housing documents are kept electronically for the required length of time.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience human resource leadership experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a human resource generalist.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Analytical approach to projects and problem solving; strong project management skills.
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others.
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and initiate appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to interact efficiently with associates, peers, and management.
  • Competence in personal computer skills; internet search, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook as well as housing management software.
  • Be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
