Position Summary
The Resident Assistant helps with enhancing the quality of life and fostering community in a safe and secure environment for employee housing residents. Responsibilities include reporting repair and maintenance issues; mediating roommate disagreements; enforcing quite hours and cleanliness standards. Hired applicant will have a single occupancy dormitory-style room in employee housing with no rent due as a benefit and requirement of the job. Room assignment will be placed as best assists with the needs of the Resident Assistant role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Be on call to monitor activities, noise, and cleanliness of the housing unit.
- On call means to be within telephone range and able to return to the property within 60 minutes
- Mediate situations between residents and determines whether further action is necessary or requires the involvement of Human Resources Manager and/ or Security.
- Assist with completing room inventory checks and safety checks on a regular basis.
- In the event of medical emergency, consults with the Housing team to assess seriousness of situation and necessity of medical treatment, call 911 when appropriate.
- Answer employee questions and explain options.
- Notify the Housing team of repair and maintenance needs and when repairs are completed.
- Respond to inquiries sent to the housing inbox and follow up as needed
- Communicate repair and service appointments to affected residents.
- Coordinate with the Housing team that bi-weekly room/condo checks are completed in compliance with Employee Housing Sublease.
- During shoulder season and periodically through the summer season, assist with transportation to / from local airport / community events and Moonlight Basin sponsored events
- Be dependable and available to work within the employee housing units on weekends, nights and/or holidays based as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of four months experience working at a seasonal resort setting. Or previous experience working in dormitory style setting on college campus
- Must be a responsible individual with good people skills who enjoys working with individuals from diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to interact efficiently with residents, peers, management, and vendors.
- Available for the duration of the season including the required training prior to the beginning of the season.
- Demonstrate ability to think logically, collect pertinent data, establish facts, and recommend appropriate course of action.
- Present self in a neat, clean, and professional manner always throughout the workday and/or whenever present in the community.
Working Conditions
This position will be onsite at the various housing units. Work hours will vary depending on business needs of each housing unit. Intent is to provide coverage from 1:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday through Saturday. Condition in the units is typical to those found in dormitory style housing, cooking in kitchen, laundry facilities, bathrooms, and bedrooms.
Physical Requirements
This is a physical job where the incumbent is required to lift 10Lbs on a regularly basis and up to 25Lbs infrequently; stand, walk upstairs, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch and do repetitive tasks with regular breaks. From time to time, we may ask that the Resident Assistant assist with moving furniture. Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
