POSITION SUMMARY: Full Time 40 hours per week
Caya Health is seeking a Medical Receptionist who is self-motivated, energetic and is a self-starter to work for a rapidly growing Health Care organization. The individual must be flexible on hours and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent personal skills and be comfortable working with patients in a clinical environment. The individual must have great customer service skills with the ability to complete operational front office duties. This includes checking in and checking out the patients, verifying insurances, answering all incoming phone calls on a multi phone line, confirmation of scheduled appointments, assisting the providers to connect with telehealth visits.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries. The Front Desk Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing the highest quality of care for our patients.
Insurance verification and collecting of copayments.
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
Completes the check in and check out process.
Must be familiar with medical terminology and ICD-10 Codes.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential. Responsible for scanning and attaching all patient forms and documents into patient charts.
Maintains and processes medical record requests.
Reviews and processes all incoming faxes. Documents on paper or in electronic medical records.
Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, maintains ethical conduct and complying with legal regulations.
Answer all incoming calls using the appropriate Caya Health greeting.
Schedule new patient appointments and follow up appointments as directed by the providers at check out.
Provide copy of any referrals or orders prior to the patient exiting the building.
Confirms upcoming appointments 24 to 48 hours prior to the scheduled visit.
Provides support for the front office supervisor/practice manager as needed.
Adheres to all HIPPA laws.
Provides support in all functional areas of the Facility.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
Medical Office Experience
Experience with medical software.
Patient registration and insurance verification/eligibility experience.
Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate to expert experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail oriented.
Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
Able to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Must be flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment.
