Job Objective: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sewing Adjunct Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing, garment construction, quilting, and textiles, along with a commitment to teaching and inspiring students. The instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative classes that cover various sewing techniques and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, and textiles.
• Prior teaching experience is highly desired but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Proficiency with sewing machines and related equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Develop and deliver course content, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
• Teach students fundamental and advanced sewing techniques, including machine operation, pattern reading, and garment construction.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through projects.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their skills.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sewing trends, tools, and materials.
• Ensure the classroom and equipment are safe, organized, and properly maintained.
• Collaborate with department staff to improve curriculum and course offerings.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Adjunct position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Classes held in a well-equipped sewing lab or classroom setting.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift light materials.
• Please be ready to provide a portfolio or examples of sewing work during your interview.
