Ulysses Coordinator

Job Description: The position, Ulysses Coordinator works with Moore Youth and Family Services to provide classroom support, maintains record integrity on behalf of the agency, and supplies a prevention-based learning environment for youth in the ULYSSES program. This position works alongside the agency partner, Epic Charter Schools, in support of students in the MYFS catchment area. In addition, this position oversees special programs with offsite agencies to support the mission of the agency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take a leadership role in making traditional ULYSSES decisions with other ULYSSES program staff.
  • Correspond with school personnel and other referral sources.
  • Perform client assessments, intake, and pre-interviews.
  • Schedule guest speakers.
  • Provide educational structured activities and services in the ULYSSEES Program that fall under the agency prevention services umbrella.
  • Order supplies for the program.
  • Submit reports to MYFS and Epic.
  • Speak on behalf of MYFS and the Epic partnership.
  • Interact with other staff members on providing services.
  • Involvement in outings & provide supervision and structure for clients in agency.

  • Provide support to program staff and clients.
  • Maintain proper recording system on client services and activities.
  • Enter client records in ChartCaddy including intakes, assessments, notes, and services.
  • Assist in developing goals and objectives for ULYSSES.
  • Interact with other agency personnel on developing and achieving agency goals and provide positive image within the community.
  • Reach out to Epic Charter Schools as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with agency and partner leadership.
  • Coordinate case management needs with classroom teacher and Epic staff.
  • Perform duties under general supervision.
  • Maintain Federal Confidentiality Regulations
  • Support other MYFS Programs.
  • Serves as a backup counselor for other programs.
  • Make programmatic decisions in conjunction with the Executive Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the agency.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science and one year of experience in juvenile justice, social work, education, community-based prevention, or diversionary youth service programs OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in juvenile justice, social work, education, community-based prevention, or diversionary youth service programs OR
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or Education adjacent discipline.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to assess individual/family problems.
  • Theoretical counseling techniques and approaches.
  • Well-developed and practiced inter-relationship skills.
  • Awareness of community resources.
  • Ability to manage time/perform responsibilities without supervision.
  • Ability for positive role taking and role modeling processes; mature judgment.
  • Ability to facilitate problem-solving methods with individuals, groups, and families, as well as larger community systems.
  • Understanding of the literature in the field of chemical dependency.
  • Ability to perform required data entry and record keeping operations by computer.
  • Ability to provide educational instruction in several subject areas.
  • Understanding of Medicaid billing and other billing.
  • Microsoft Office proficient of moderate or greater.
  • Ability to create written documentation that meets standards.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is a temperature-controlled classroom environment most times. All staff are required to attend meetings, serve on committees on behalf of the agency, and may need to travel up to 20% of their work schedule to accommodate the needs of the agency. Minimal lifting, bending, and dexterity of movement is required for this position. The 10-month contract position operates during the traditional school year, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. This position observes school employee days off and also receives 5 PTO days in addition to this schedule. Employees on this contract are expected to attend 4 workdays during the 2-month summer break for mandatory training and classroom prep.

Salary:

  • The salary band for this position is $45,000-$47,000 annually. This position is eligible for 5 PTO days for a 10-month contract period, medical benefits, and retirement.
