As the Data Mapping Specialist, you will play a key role in implementing data integration projects by mapping data from clients’ existing systems into our data platform. Your Impact:
- Lead the mapping of data from their existing systems to our data platform.
- Ensure that data flows smoothly between systems while meeting client-specific requirements.
- Work with clients and internal teams to define and map data fields.
- Standardize and normalize incoming data files to ensure consistency and compatibility with our platform.
- Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of the data mapping processes. This documentation should outline the logic, field mappings, transformation rules, and quality control procedures used to move data between systems.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to verify that data is accurately imported, validated, and transformed.
- Ensure that any discrepancies or errors in the mapping process are promptly addressed and corrected.
- Work directly with clients to understand their data requirements, explain mapping decisions, and address any concerns regarding data transformation and integration and provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, solution architects, and database engineers, to ensure that data mapping efforts are aligned with overall project goals and timelines.
- Identify and resolve mapping-related issues during the onboarding process; and collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve any data inconsistencies or integration problems.
- Contribute to the creation of best practices, templates, and tools for future data mapping projects.
- Share insights and best practices with internal teams to ensure consistency and improve the overall implementation process.
- Participate in training sessions as needed to stay updated on data mapping trends and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data management, or related field; additional certifications or training in data integration or mapping tools are a plus.
- 3 years of experience in data mapping, data integration, or data management roles.
- Experience working with data mapping tools, ETL processes, and integration platforms.
- Strong understanding of data formats (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON, etc.) and data transformation techniques.
- Previous experience in client-facing roles, preferably in a data integration or implementation capacity.
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation and writing skills.
- Lifelong love of learning and an intense curiosity for how and why things work.
- Exceptional multitasking skills.

- Passionate about helping to drive nonprofit missions forward.
- Experience working on client implementation projects in sectors such as CRM or data platforms is a plus.
