About The Role
The Summer Stage Vocal Directors are responsible for teaching and guiding the vocal performers in the production. They will work closely with the performers to improve their technique, diction, and interpretation of the material. In addition, they will collaborate with the Director, Choreographer, and other members of the creative team to ensure that the vocal performances align with the overall vision for the production.

During a typical season we produce four youth musicals, one young adult musical, one all ages musical, one adults only musical/cabaret and a performing arts day camp with five overlapping sessions resulting in five youth musicals across nine weeks in the summer. All of these productions need Directors, Choreographers, Vocal Directors, Tech Directors, Costume Designers, Stage Managers, front of house positions and more.

About The Role

Requirements
Qualifications:
- You must be a high school graduate
- Background in theater, including experience in Vocal or Music direction
- Have a degree or studying in music, education, or in a related field
- Understanding of vocal technique and music theory
- Teaching, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Passion for music and the arts
- Be present at Camp from 9:00 - 4:00 with an hour lunch
- Teach Music classes in the morning and run rehearsals in the afternoon
- Be present at as many performances as possible
- Provide vocal training and coaching to individual performers
- Conduct rehearsals and lead ensemble numbers
- Provide feedback to performers on their technique and performance
- Ensure that the performers are in good physical and vocal health
- Attend rehearsals and performances to ensure that the vocal performances meet the standards of the production
